Parent FAQs
Navigating your child's developmental journey can feel overwhelming. We're here to provide clarity and support as you take these first warm steps toward growth and empowerment.
What is pediatric occupational therapy?
It's a specialized therapy that uses play-based activities to help children develop the skills they need for daily living, including sensory processing, motor coordination, and emotional regulation.
Who can benefit from OT?
Children facing challenges with sensory integration, motor skills, focus, social interaction, or daily routines like dressing and eating often see significant progress through our individualized approach.
How often will my child attend?
Most children attend once or twice a week, depending on their specific needs and goals. We work with you to create a schedule that supports consistent growth without overwhelming your family.
Is it just about playing?
Play is a child's 'occupation.' While sessions look like fun, every activity is carefully chosen to build neural pathways, improve resilience, and enhance physical and cognitive development.

Booking & First Steps
How do I schedule an evaluation?
You can call us directly or use our online booking request form to set up an initial assessment for your child.
Do you accept insurance?
We provide both insurance billing and cash-pay options. Please contact us to verify if we are in-network with your provider.
What paperwork is needed?
We'll need medical history forms, a doctor's referral, and developmental records to prepare for your child's first visit.
What happens in the first session?
The first visit is an evaluation through child-led play where we identify strengths and areas for sensory or motor development.
Expectations & Outcomes
What does a typical OT session look like?
Sessions usually last 45 to 60 minutes and occur in our play-based gym. To your child, it feels like fun and games, but every activity is chosen to challenge specific sensory or motor systems in a supportive way.
Will I be involved in the sessions?
Yes! We believe parents are the experts on their children. We often invite you to observe or participate, providing you with strategies to carry over the therapeutic benefits into your daily home routines.
How is progress tracked?
We set measurable goals during the initial evaluation. Progress is documented each session, and we conduct formal re-evaluations every 6 months to adjust treatment plans and celebrate milestones together.
How long will my child need therapy?
Therapy duration varies for every child. Some may reach their goals in a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support as they navigate different developmental stages. We regularly review this with you.
What if my child has a hard time during a session?
Upsetting moments or sensory overload are normal. Our therapists are experts in co-regulation and will use these moments as therapeutic opportunities to help your child learn how to navigate big feelings.
Can therapy help with home and school life?
Absolutely. The ultimate goal of OT is improving participation in 'occupations'—which for a child means playing, learning, and self-care. We focus on skills that translate directly to school performance and home harmony.
